The management of design could be seen as a competitive advantage, as it bridges competences of engineering, innovation and marketing. Yet, design plays “a minor role, if any” in technology-intensive companies. Therefore, this research will explore which practices enable a better search for how technology can be transferred into new domains of applications, from an innovation and design perspective.
