Modern industries are in a big need of parts feeder solutions where flexibility encompasses every part of the work cell design, including hardware and control software, the ability to feed very small, small quantity and well-varied of parts. Conventional feeder methods are costly and not flexible enough because of their dedicated nature.The pre-study case company is Volvo Parts in Eskilstuna. The project emphasizes on Volvo Parts requirements for implementing parts feeder solution for packaging operations which will concentrate on a great amount of flexibility. The study concentrated on available methodologies and technologies with the parts system manufacturer for a suitable solution for Volvo Parts.
