The objective of the research project is to understand how manufacturing companies, under certain production strategic contexts, can enhance explorative work in an organized manner at the Fuzzy Font‐end of production system development, in order to realize innovative production systems. The main research area of the project is production system development, and the project is also inspired by the research areas of innovation management and new product development. The research project is driven by Mälardalen University in close cooperation with three industrial partners – Volvo Car, AQ Component Västerås, and AQ Segerström & Svensson.
