The Idea Competion yearly organized at MDU has for the first time been conducted jointly with our strategic partners in South America.This talk will present the Idea Competion winning contributions from Universidad de Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia and Universidad Technologica de Panama. 

- CC box: The idea revolves around the development of a container or box with the ability to control the environment inside, primarily focusing on humidity control for the preservation of documents (such as original diplomas, blueprints, certificates, historical documents) and artworks (paintings). This container would be equipped with a moisture extraction system, a secure and hermetic closure mechanism, an inventory system that allows users to track the types of documents stored and their locations via mobile connectivity, an alarm system that notifies the user of improper closure or seal failure, a connectivity system with a calendar for scheduling important dates when the document or artwork needs to be checked, and an access restriction system that requires the user to unlock the box on their mobile device using a predetermined code of their choosing.


-Shut AI: The idea consists of the construction and implementation of a system for the separation of organic, usable and non-usable waste in the garbage chutes in buildings. The process consists of the previous separation of waste by the user, then enter the identification on the monitor near the chute, the device marks the bag with a code and falls down the chute. Then, almost at the end of the route, the machine separates with a system of gates in the analyzed category and falls into the container, where it makes the conversion of mass (garbage) to money and is stored in the system to be deducted from your public services bill. This directly helps the landfill recyclers by improving the facility and reducing their risk of injury, a more dignified and efficient work, and therefore, the EPM Public Company generates more profitability by the efficiency of workers and a recycling material.
